Fairy fort in Kilmacanearla North is a roughly circular earthen enclosure, 38.5 metres north-south and 35 metres east-west, set on a break in a north-facing slope in County Limerick. Its bank rises 2.2 metres externally, dips to 0.8 metres internally, and a causeway 5.9 metres wide opens at the east-southeast. A fosse runs partway around the outside, while a scarped edge defines the rest, suggesting the ring was shaped to catch light, shade or sight across the land. cattle still graze inside, and a lone tree stands west of centre beside a dump of field-clearance stones, as if the fort gave up its boundary but kept its shape.

In pasture, on break in N-facing slope. Roughly circular area (38.5m N-S; 35m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 2.2m) ESE->NNW, with external fosse (D 0.95m; Wth 2.6m) ESE->S, and defined by a scarped edge (H 1.75m; Wth 3.8m) NNW->ESE. Causeway entrance (Wth 5.9m) at ESE. Interior, under pasture, slopes down to E. Just W-of-centre is deciduous tree around base of which is a dump of field-clearance stones. Field boundaries, shown abutting enclosure at SE and NW on 1924 OS 6-inch map, have been removed; this probably accounts for dumps of earthen material immediately outside enclosure to W and NW.
