What is recorded here

Kilgobnet is a lost ringfort, buried beneath a farmyard built around 1980. It stood west of the Weaver's stream, a subcircular enclosure marked only on old maps and local memory. The earth swallowed its walls, but the name remains, a fort in the mind rather than the soil.

The site of the subcircular enclosure marked at this location on the second edition of the OS map is now occupied by a farmyard, constructed around 1980. No visible trace of the monument survives. Known locally as a 'fort', it was located a short distance W of the Weaver's stream. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
