Kilfearagh holds a true earthen ringfort, not a fairy tale. Men built the rampart, lived inside it, and left the hole behind. The fairies entered later, filling the empty room with their own noise.

A fairy fort, or earthen ringfort in Kilfearagh, is a circular earthwork enclosure typical of early-medieval Ireland, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Such sites are often associated with folklore, including beliefs in fairy inhabitants and supernatural occurrences.
