Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kilcunnahin Beg

Situated on a S-facing slope in rolling pastureland in the grounds of Clifton House. A roughly oval site (diam. 48m N-S; 54.7m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 9m; int. H 0.86m; ext. H 2m) reduced to a scarp at W and an outer fosse (Wth 6.1m; D 0.5m). The interior slopes to the S and there is a silage pit in the SW quadrant and mounds of dumped material in the SE quadrant. The inner edge of the bank is planted with mature beech trees suggesting reuse as a tree-ring. No entrance feature visible.
