Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kilcow

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Kilcow holds a circular earthen fort, likely dating to the medieval period when such defences dotted the Irish landscape. Its rim may have marked a home, a boundary, or a warning to passers-by, while local memory has since recast it as a fairy fort. People may have lived there before withdrawing into legend, leaving behind a shape that still resists ordinary explanation.
