Fairy fort in Horsemount North, County Cork: a 32-metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope above the Ivale River, its bank overgrown, its southwest gap narrowed by a causeway, and a possible buried passage hiding in the southern half. People may have lived there, herded there, or simply avoided the hole in the ground that local story calls a fairy fort. The river still passes beneath it, carrying what the earth will not say.

In pasture, on E-facing slope, overlooking the Ivale River. Roughly circular area (32.5m N-S; 29m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.1m)with external fosse (D 1.5m). Bank heavily overgrown; lowest on E side; gap (Wth 1.3m) to SW with causeway. Interior slopes down to E; possible Man-made underground passage (9046) in S half.
