Garrynamona in County Clare holds an earthen ringfort that local tradition still calls a fairy fort, a name that turns a human boundary into a warning. The ridge may have marked a dwelling, a boundary or a place of exclusion, yet the fairy label suggests people stopped treating it as ordinary property. That change of meaning is the interesting part. The hill did not need to become magical to stop being available; it only needed to become unfamiliar.
