Fairy fort in Garranereagh, County Cork: a 20-metre earthen ring on a south-east slope, half-smothered in furze, with a shallow outer ditch still marking its edge. People called it a fairy fort because the shape appeared sudden and unowned, yet the bank and ditch suggest human hands built a defensible home or marker. The pasture around it has changed more often than the ring itself, so the site remains a quiet witness to forgotten residence.

In pasture, on SE-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 20m) defined by earthen bank (H 0.8m); evidence for external fosse survives as shallow depression at base of bank.
