What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not a separate kind from ordinary ringforts, though people still call them that. The name comes from legend and wonder, not from a different build. A solid earth bank, a level floor and a clear entrance mark the true form. The fairy label adds mystery, but the structure remains a human ringfort.
