What is recorded here

A 25m earthen circle stood beside the Camoge River until ploughs erased it between 1840 and 1897. The land remembers the shape only through faint crop shadows and a lingering curve of bank at the north edge. What was built there, who lived inside the ring, and why it vanished so quickly have all departed with the soil.

In reclaimed pasture, 60m N of the Camoge River, ring-barrow (LI031-139----) lies 240m to NW. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a circular-shaped area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by a bank. Not depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map which suggests that monument was levelled between these map dates.
