Half a million years of rain have not erased the fort. A thirty-four-metre grass platform still stands beside the canal, its northern edge rising seventy centimetres above the ground while a shallow ditch circles part of it. People may have lived there, excluded others there, or simply marked the edge of a field before memory began. The fairies never answered questions about it.

Located on a slight S-facing slope and c. 20m N of an E-W section of the Ballinamore and Ballyconnell canal. This is a grass-covered circular or D-shaped platform (diam. 34m N-S) defined by a scarp which is best preserved at N (H 0.7m) and an outer fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 0.4m). The monument is truncated by a N-S field bank at E and the original entrance is not identified. Archaeological testing (02E1228) immediately to the N produced no related material (Read 2004).
