Doonaha West holds a circular earthen fort, local memory naming it a fairy fort rather than a human home. That boundary between fact and fantasy is the point: the shape is clear, the residents are not. A ring of soil on Clare ground is not a small detail. It is a marker that people, or something like people, stood there, drew a line around their lives, and left the line behind.
