Fairy fort in Derreen Upper: a worn earth ring on a grassy rise, forty metres across, with a ditch and outer bank that a field boundary cut open. People may have lived there, feared the fairies, or simply avoided the trouble of explaining why the ground dips and swells. The ring keeps its shape because everyone still treats it as occupied.

On a rise in undulating grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 41.5m, E-W 34.5m) defined by a scarp, intervening fosse and outer bank. The outer bank is disturbed by a field boundary at SW, and no visible surface trace of it survives from WtoNW.
