Derreen Upper holds a thirty-five metre oval rath where a southern bank and eastern fosse still mark the edge of human ambition. A field wall cuts the northeast and a quarry pit scars the east, proving that ownership and memory belong to everyone and no one. The fairies may have taken the inside, but they left the shape behind to tempt stubborn horses and curious people into believing the landscape still understands boundaries.

In gently undulating grassland. Poorly preserved oval rath (N-S 35m) defined by a bank at S, and elsewhere by a scarp. An external fosse is visible from E through S to SSW.
