Fairy fort in Curry, County Mayo: a 39m earthen ring on a pasture knoll, its two banks and shallow fosse still marking most of the circle. The eastern gap may have been an entrance, while marshy ground waits to the west and quarried scars show on the north. People may have lived there, herded there, or simply avoided the fort because fairy stories made it off limits.

In pasture, atop knoll. Circular area (39m N-S; 37m E-W), enclosed by remains of two earthen banks with intervening fosse (D 0.8m). Inner bank (H 1.6m), fosse and outer bank (H 1.2m) survive NE to E and SE to W. Possible entrance on E (Wth 2.9m). Interior and bank in N have been quarried. Marshy ground to W.
