Fairy fort in Crenard, County Cavan: a broad oval earthwork, 43.6m by 33.7m inside, still marked by a low bank and a wide break at the north-northwest that may have been its entrance. People may have lived there, herded animals past it or simply avoided it after dark; the ground keeps the shape while the names and purposes blur.

Raised broad oval area (int. dims. 43.6m N-S; 33.7m E-W) enclosed by the remains of an earthen bank, which is best preserved at NNW. Wide ill- defined break in bank at NNW may represent original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
