Fairy forts are often dismissed as fantasy, yet this was a real earthen ringfort in Creevaghbaun, large enough to hold a household and defined by a bank and external fosse. It stood in level grassland near the Grange River until quarrying and development erased it shortly after 1985. The fairies may be invention, but the loss is fact: a shaped place, removed for convenience. What remains is the shape of the hole in the ground and the memory that people once lived there.

In level grassland, c. 250m NE of the Grange River. When initially visited in March 1985, this monument consisted of a poorly preserved subcircular rath (NE-SW 45.8m, NW-SE 41.2m) defined by a bank and external fosse. Quarrying had encroached upon the enclosing elements from SE through S to SW. It was subsequently levelled, shortly after the site visit, due to land development.
