What is recorded here

Magic and myth make it a fairy fort, but measurement shows a human ringfort: an oval area twenty-nine and a half metres long, twenty-five metres wide, enclosed by an earth-and-stone bank and a scarped edge. It sits in rough pasture on a west-facing hill slope above outcropping limestone in Craggs, County Limerick. The bank continues west from either end as a field boundary, placing the fort in a corner of the field rather than at its centre. Inside, limestone still breaks through the ground and dense growth crowds the north-east quadrant, while grazing animals use the rest.

In rough pasture, on W-facing hill slope, In area of outcropping limestone. Oval area (29.5m N-S; 25m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. H 0.8m) NW->S, and defined by scarped edge (H 0.3m; Wth 1.6m) S->NW. Bank continues to W from either end as field boundary, so that site occupies corner of field.
