Fairy forts and the like are common in Ireland. These are usually earthen ringforts that date to the early medieval period. They are called fairy forts because people believed fairies lived there after humans stopped using them.

Marked 'Fort' on OS Fair Plan and 1836 ed. Not marked on subsequent eds. Probably the site of a rath. Situated on the NE slope of a drumlin hill. Not visible at ground level.
