What is recorded here

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Coolmeen (roscommon By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Coolmeen (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. The site appears only on the 1914 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular feature measuring roughly 40 metres northeast-southwest and 30 metres northwest-southeast. It occupies a north-facing slope at the west end of an east-west drumlin ridge, where a field bank curves northeast-southeast around the location although the fort itself no longer shows in reclaimed pasture.
Marked as a subcircular feature (dims c. 40m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a N-facing slope at the W end of an E-W drumlin ridge. It is not visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture, but a field bank curves N-SE (C c. 28m) around the location. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
