What is recorded here

Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed because people stopped remembering the hands that built them. Coolineagh still shows a thirty-six-metre circle, an earthen bank, and a darker grass band where a ditch once cut the pasture. That is enough to see the shape of a home, a boundary, and a warning. The forgotten part is not magic; it is memory leaving a place behind.

In pasture. Circular raised area (diam. 36m) defined by earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.45m). Band of darker grass surrounding bank indicates evidence for external fosse. No visible surface trace of 'outer bank....repaired by modern fencing' recorded by Hartnett (1939, 51). Surrounding field boundaries removed.
