Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cooldurragha (fermoy By., Carrigleamleary Par.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Cooldurragha holds a hidden circular enclosure, perhaps a rath, buried beneath pastureland. A shallow ditch still outlines the twenty-eight-metre circle, waiting for rain or memory to reveal its edges. People may have lived inside that ring before the grass swallowed the stones, but the earth keeps the shape rather than the story.
In pastureland. Cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 28m), possibly a rath, defined by a ditch visible on MapGenie Digital Globe aerial imagery (2006-2012).   Compiled by: Anne-Julie Lafaye  based on details provided by Jean-Charles Caillère

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
