Fairy forts are no joke. They swallow light, bend memory and devour the proud. Cloghleafin is gone from the soil but the boundary still kinks around its absent circle, proving the fort is not dead; it has moved inside the landscape. What you forget, it keeps. What you love, it takes. Never laugh at a fairy fort. Laugh once and it owns you.

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, immediately to S of E-W field boundary. Levelled; field boundary kinks to respect site. Circular enclosure visible as cropmark of fosse in aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDS 18). Burial cist (CO019-04102-) found short distance to E in same field.
