Fairy fort in Clashgortmore, County Limerick. A circular scarped earthwork, about 22 metres across, sits in low pasture, its interior dipping toward the centre and choked with furze and briars except at one narrow north-west gap. The name suggests people once believed the fairies lived there, while the shape suggests humans made a defensible or ceremonial space long before that belief became common. A wire fence now rings the base, reminding visitors that even abandoned earth belongs to someone.

In low-lying gently undulating pasture. Circular area (diam. c. 22m) defined by scarped edge (H 0.85m; Wth 3.1m). Only verge of interior at NW is accessible due to dense cover by furze and briars; interior dips down towards centre. Site recently enclosed by wire fence just outside base of scarp.
