Fairy fort in Charlesfield stands on an east-facing slope above the Fermoyle River valley, its low stone bank curving from north-northeast to west-southwest across rough grazing land. The earthwork emerged when bog was reclaimed in the 1960s, revealing a stone-free interior contrasting with the stony bank and two small external stone concentrations. People may have shaped that ridge into a dwelling or marker long before the field took it back, yet the river valley still frames the remains like a forgotten room.

On E-facing slope, overlooking narrow valley of Fermoyle River. Arc, formed by low rise NNE->WSW, clearly visible due to differential growth pattern in rough grazing land. Later visit to site when field ploughed showed concentration of stones on surface of low rise. Interior slopes down to E. Concentration of stones noted outside levelled bank to E and WSW (c. 2m x c. 2m). According to local information, site discovered when area reclaimed from bog land in 1960s; bank was made of stone and interior clear of stone in contrast to rest of field.
