Castleboy holds a well-preserved circular rath thirty-five metres across, defined by a bank and external fosse in level pastureland. The narrow southeast gap, marked by faint causeway traces, was probably the original entrance, while the wider northeast opening may have formed later. People may have herded livestock through that caused entrance or simply cut the bank when the fort fell into rural use.

In level pastureland. Well-preserved circular rath (diam. c. 35m) defined by a bank and external fosse; the latter is best preserved at SE. There are gaps in the bank at NE (Wth 7m) and SE (Wth 1.4m). Traces of a causeway exist outside the latter, which was probably the original entrance.
