Fairy forts are earthen rings where people once lived, worked and perhaps left behind stories the land still repeats. In Carrownaweelaun that old ring stands among ordinary fields, marking a time when human hands shaped the earth into a small defensible world. Whether it was a homestead, a boundary marker or a place of story, it remains a visible reminder that Clare’s countryside is layered with forgotten life.
