Fairy fort in Carrownacloghy, County Clare. A circular grass-covered area, about thirty-three metres across, sits on a hillock, bounded by an overgrown earthen bank and a thinner outer bank partly absorbed into a field edge. No entrance remains visible, which suits a place people once imagined belonged to fairies rather than humans. The shape is clear enough to walk around and imagine inside.

Situated on top of a hillock. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A circular grass-covered area (diam. 33.2m N-S; 32.2m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 4-6m; int. H 0.4-1.1m; ext. H 0.8-1.5m). This is separated by a berm (Wth 1.7m) from an outer bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.3m) which only survives incorporated into a field bank W-NW.
