Fairy forts in Clare hide inside ordinary fields, waiting for rain or lamplight to reveal their edges. In Carrowgar, that ancient ring may still hold its shape beneath grass, stones or forgotten feet. People lived, played or feared such places long before maps existed. The land remembers what records forget.
