In Clonderalaw Bay, the earthen ring rises like a forgotten drum skin, waiting for a hand heavy enough to strike it. Men called it a fairy fort because the shadows inside moved before sunset, but that excuse merely protected the chamber from curious knives. The clay remembers every footprint and returns them doubled, forcing the walker to leave behind the part of himself that wanted to take something.
