What is recorded here

Carrigpark held a thirty-five-metre earthen ring before the railway cut through it. The train line now bisects the ancient circle, leaving only a low northern arc beside the sunken tracks. Humans may have lived there, feared the dark or simply marked the edge of their field. The railway arrived later, indifferent to memory, and took the center for itself.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, in Carrigpark Td. Site now bisected by railway line and townland boundary, altered to follow course of railway. Arc (C 16m E-W) formed by low bank (int. H 0.38m; ext.
