Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Carrigeen (drumahaire By.) stands on the crest of a drumlin in County Leitrim, Ireland. Its earthen bank and external fosse still mark a small enclosed life, perhaps a home, warehouse or ritual place, though no surviving name or date confirms that use. The entrance ramps and surrounding field walls show that people shaped the hill for centuries before the fort became a legend.

Located at the crest of the NE-facing slope of a drumlin. This is a grass and rush-covered circular area (diam. 22.7m NW-SE; 21.6m NE-SW; int. diam. 19m NE-SW; 18m NW-SE) defined by a grass-covered earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.05-0.2m; ext. H 0.5m at W (upslope) to 1.2m at E), and an external fosse (Wth 3.5m) SE-S. The monument is curtailed elsewhere by surrounding field walls. There is an entrance ramp (Wth 3.2m) at N and another (Wth 3.2m) at ESE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
