Fairy fort in Carrickfad is a grass-covered ringfort platform, twenty-two metres across, set on the edge of a hilly plateau in County Leitrim. It has no clear entrance or ditch, only a shallow scarp that becomes a steep natural slope to the north. The shape is small enough to belong to a household, a watch post or a forgotten ritual place, yet large enough to exclude chance. People may have stood there in rain, watched the valley or kept something hidden from plain sight.

Located at the NE edge of a small plateau in an area of hilly rock outcrop and rough pasture. It is indicated as a small enclosure described as a ‘Fort’ on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map. This is a grass-covered subcircular platform (dims 22m E-W; 18m N-S) defined by a slight scarp (H 0.2m), which becomes a severe natural slope at N. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
