Fairy fort is a 38m earthen ring in Carhue, Cork, with a 1.5m bank that still casts a shadow across the pasture. It overlooks the stream valley, where the removed field fences and uneven ground suggest people once lived, worked and played inside its circle. The name implies more than stone and soil, as if the fort belonged to another kind of witness.

In pasture, overlooking stream valley to S. Circular area (diam. 38m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.5m). Bank stone-faced externally in parts. According to Hartnett (1939, 229), outer fosse filled in but traces remain to N. Interior surface uneven. Surrounding field fences removed.
