Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cappanavarnoge

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Mortons and edge of the cave, the fort is not a fort at all. It is a chamber built into the hill, with a narrow entrance and a roof of earth and stone. People may have lived there, hidden there or kept fire there when the coast turned cruel. The chamber does not need a heroic owner; it needs a visible room, a working door and an account that fits the shape of the place.
