Cahiracon is a ringfort, a circular earthwork built by humans and later renamed a fairy fort because the old boundary still feels occupied. The clay bank may have guarded a household, a herd or a sacred threshold, yet the fairy label warns that the place keeps its own rules. People moved through Clare with life and loss, shaping the land into a circle that still resists forgetting.
