Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Bolooghra

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are called that because people once believed fairies lived there. That belief tells us something about the awe these places still create. The earthworks are real. The boundary between human history and folklore becomes thin when a ring of soil stands unchanged while kingdoms rise and fall around it.
