Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Banshagh, dunmaniheen

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Banshagh holds a deep earthen ring marked as a fairy fort, though it may have been a human home before folklore claimed it. The soil still shapes itself into a room without roofs, waiting for people who never leave. What is missing is not facts but witness, since the land stopped answering the questions asked of it.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
