Fairy fort in Ballytrasna, County Galway: a 26m circular rath, still defined by inner scarp, fosse and stone-revetted outer bank, sits 300m west of another ringfort. Trees line the dip, a modern gap breaks the south-east and a small quarry has bitten into the north-west bank. People may have lived there, marked territory or simply avoided the place because it felt occupied. The stones and soil still hold that shape, waiting for someone to stop treating it like ordinary ground.

Some 300m W of a ringfort (GA029-028----). Circular rath (D 26m), in fair condition, defined by a tree-lined inner scarp, intervening fosse and outer bank, the outer face of which is revetted with stone. A gap at SE appears modern.
