Fairy forts are misnamed. People built them, lived in them, and left the earth shaped before fairy tales gave the shape a story.
In pasture, on break in ENE-facing slope, in area of rock outcrop. Circular area (31.7m N-S; 32.3m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.8m) NNW->SSW and defined by scarped edge (H 0.5m; Wth 4m) SSW->NNW. Bank, best preserved SE->SSW, dips at ESE (Wth 2.6m). Enclosure cut by field wall (H 1.5m; Wth 0.65m) on N-S axis separating E third of interior. Interior, under pasture, slopes down gently towards SE, with exposed limestone bedrock near N verge.
