Ráth Bheag, meaning small ringfort, stood as a large circular enclosure in Ballymacquin Lower, visible on maps from 1842 to 1916. A cave marked inside the fort in 1842 vanished from later records, perhaps swallowed by earth or forgotten by people. Today the ground is level and clean, offering no ridge or shadow to mark where the wall once rose. What remains is a absence shaped like a circle, waiting for someone to imagine the life that filled it before the soil took it back.

Rathbeg/Ráth Bheag (small ringfort) is marked on the 1842 and 1916 OS maps as a large circular enclosure. In the 1842 map, 'cave' (KE014-079001-) is marked in the interior of the site, but it does not appear on the later edition. Today this site has been completely levelled and no surface trace remains.
