Fairy forts are not for entry. That is the whole rule, not a suggestion. The fort in Ballykeating still stands with its banks and broken places, waiting to test whether people understand the boundary between visiting and taking.

In pasture, on gentle NE-facing slope. Circular raised area (18m E-W) enclosed by low bank, most clearly visible on E side; intervening fosse; outer earthen bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 1.4m); shallow external fosse (D 0.6m). Inner bank quarried into for stone to W. Outer earthen bank varies in height; break to E (Wth 3.2m) and to W. Enclosure overgrown with trees.
