Fairy fort in Ballygeale, County Limerick: a 26m earthen ring with stone bank and faint outer ditch, standing in open pasture where a modern ramp has cut through the western scarp. People may have lived, herded or hidden there before the field took the shape back; the fairies keep whatever the soil forgot. The gap at north and the fodder dump at south show that living creatures still use the circle on their own terms.

In gentle undulating pasture, good to moderate views in all directions, enclosure (LI021-024----) lies 150m to S. Present remains consist of a raised circular-shaped area (diam. 26m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3.9m; H int. 0.3; ext. 1.2m) with traces of an external fosse best preserved at SW (base Wth 2.2m; D 0.3m). Modern ramp (Wth 6.5m) crosses scarp at W, fosse absent here. Interior of site level with external fosse and clear of overgrowth. A portion of the interior in the SW quadrant has been fenced off with post and wire fence as a dump for old fodder.
