Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballygamboon Upper

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Ballygamboon Upper, County Kerry: an earthen ringfort, a rath, still standing in the field. People may have lived inside its bank when kings and farmers shared the same land, then left it to rain, grass and rumor. The fairies took it back, as they take most forgotten rooms, and wait for someone clever enough to knock before entering.
