Fairy fort in Ballyenahan South, County Cork: earthen ringfort, about 40m across, on a natural rise in pasture. Mapped as an oval or circular enclosed place from 1842 onward, then levelled in 1965 during a land project scheme. A north-facing scarped arc and lower terrace still mark where the fort stood, with rock exposed at the edges.

In pasture, atop natural rise. Depicted as hachured oval enclosure on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m), on S side of field boundary, on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled in 1965 during 'land project scheme' (OPW). Arc formed by scarp (H 1.6m) survives to N, above terrace (Wth 4.6m) defined by second scarp (H 1.1m). Field boundary exists 2.75m to N of second scarp. Some rock outcrop exposed atop upper scarp and at base of lower scarp.
