Fairy fort in Ballyelan, County Limerick: a roughly circular earthen ringfort, 29.25m by 26.5m, with a 1.9m outer bank, 1.5m fosse and a 2.6m causeway entrance at SSE, set on a gentle SE-facing slope in pasture. The name suggests people once refused to explain it, handing it to fairy rather than forget it could have been human. That much is still life: a boundary made, entered, left behind, and remembered sideways.

In pasture, on gentle SE-facing slope. Roughly circular area (29.25m N-S; 26.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.2m; ext. H 1.9m), with external fosse (D 1.5m; Wth 1m) NW->SE.
