Fairy fort and human ringfort share one address in Ballintemple, County Cavan. A circular chamber thirty-eight metres wide still stands inside two earth banks separated by a deep ditch, its northeast gap marked by the remains of a causeway. People may have lived there, fought there or simply passed through; the fairies may have taken the same hole and made it their own. Both claims fit the shape.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 38m) enclosed by two earthen banks with wide, deep, intermediate fosse. Outer face of outer bank has been modified and incorporated into the field boundary. Inner bank is very substantial. Break in inner bank at NE with remains of accompanying causeway probably represents original entrance. Densely overgrown with vegetation.
