Fairy forts are earthen rings where people once lived, worked and died before maps or museums existed. In Ballaghafadda West the ring remains a visible marker of that forgotten life. Clare folklore about fairies may be dressing ordinary human history in wonder, but the soil still holds the shape of hands that built it.
