Fairy fort in Ardcahan, County Cork: a rough circular rath on a south-facing slope, earth and stone bank rising 1.3m, natural rock completing the west side, interior adjusted to the hill. People may have kept animals there, marked territory, or simply shaped a place they loved before records began. The fairies, according to local story, took it back; that much is fine.

In pasture, on S-facing slope, below crest of low hill. Roughly circular area (38.5m N-S; 40.5m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (H 1.3m) NNE->W; natural rock face rises 1.4m W->NNE. Interior raised on SE side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
