Lismoyle is a 40-metre earthen ring in Ardagh where a square stone chamber still stands inside the ancient bank. The structure contains possible dwelling sites and a projecting wall that cuts across the interior like a forgotten room divider. It sits beside another fort, suggesting a small cluster of homes rather than a lonely defensive post. The earth has kept the shape of human life long after the people vanished.

Internal diameter 37.4m N-S, 40m E-W Lismoyle/Lios Maol (flat ringfort). Situated immediately SE of a univallate cahir (802), this univallate ringfort consists of a circular area enclosed by a bank and exterior fosse. The enclosing bank is constructed of earth and stone and has a steep exterior side, best seen to the E where it has a maximum external height of 2.9m and measures .9m on average above the interior. The exterior fosse can be traced for most of the site, except from the NW through N to E. Elsewhere it is shallow and flat bottomed, 1.8m wide and .6m deep. The interior, which is at a higher level than the surrounding land, contains possible house and hut sites. Extending out of the interior of the W bank is a curved raised area of .5m; projecting from the rise are the stone foundations of a roughly square site (KE009-048001-), 8.6m x 8m with walls c 1.4m in thickness. Out of the NE corner comes a stone wall which runs N into the bank. The stone wall is slightly curved and touches the interior of the N sector. It measures c 12m long and c 1m thick. In the S and SW sectors there are two small semi-circular mounds curved into the bank, both measuring cl.8m x 1.5m; these features possibly suggest hut sites.
